Three Systems to Organize the Executive Mind
The professional world is full of deep thinkers. Rarely have I met a sales professional or entrepreneur who doesn’t have a mind saturated with ideas for his business, his personal goals, and a rich philosophical inquiry that’s important to him.
Indeed, I might describe myself as a professional with those three areas of intellectual interest. Balancing them all isn’t easy, which is why I’ve come to use three different systems simultaneously:
Getting Things Done (GTD): Organizing all the stuff that I need to take action on.
The 12 Week Year (12WY): Prioritizing the goal that’s most important to achieve right now.
Personal Knowledge Management (PKM): A system for accumulating and clarifying a rich network of ideas related to the biggest questions I care about.
In this article, I will explain these three systems and how I have harmonized them into a full, cohesive system.
